Community Midwives

The midwives attached to The Limes Medical Centre offer a full range of pre-natal and ante-natal care, support and guidance during pregnancy and confinement, and are always contactable as members of the Poppy Team through Kingsgate Ward at The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital on 01843 225544. They are always happy to answer your questions and, if necessary, home visits can be arranged to suit your needs.

Community Nurses

The district nursing team consists of trained nurses and health care assistants. The service provides 24 hour high quality care based on the needs and priorities of the practice population. Patients are supported and encouraged to maximise independence and to promote health. District nurses have an open referral system and messages can be left between 08.30 and 16.30, Monday to Friday at the surgery by telephoning 01843 222788. The out-of hours services can be contacted through South East Health.

Health Visitors

The health visitors are nurses with a specialist training and work with families and in particular children under five years of age. Their role includes home visiting, developmental assessments, child health clinics and health education. Child health clinics are held at the College Road Clinic. The health visitors are based at College Road Clinic and can be contacted there on 01843 255175, Monday to Friday. 


We have KCA Practice Counsellors. They are able to offer brief focused confidential counselling (maximum of eight sessions of 50 minutes each) to anyone within the practice for any of the following reasons: anxiety, stress, mild depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, bereavement and loss, redundancy and retirement, and those who have concerns about their own or someone else's use of prescribed or non-prescribed drugs, tobacco or solvents.   Patient's requiring alcohol counselling are referred to The Mount Zeehan Alcohol Dependancy Service.
