When We Are Closed

If you require medical help URGENTLY when the surgery is closed you must telephone NHS 111

DO NOT go directly to South East Health based at the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital without first calling, it is an EMERGENCY SERVICE not a routine surgery at night, or weekends and the doctor on call may well be out doing a dozen or more house calls before returning to base and you may have to wait some hours before being seen.

If you, or a member of your family, have had an accident, then go directly to QEQM Hospital A & E Department, via ambulance if necessary. We rely on your common sense to decide what needs to be dealt with URGENTLY and what can wait until normal surgery hours.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergencyNHS ChoicesThis site is brought to you by My Surgery Website
