Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the average mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GP's working in The Limes Medical Centre in the last financial year was £89,940 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 5 full time GP's and 1 part-time salaried who worked in the practice for more than six months.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgment about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.
